About this deal

However, detailed sounds are important for practice purposes, especially in terms of touch response. It’s such a tragedy, I love the Casio’s small form, textured keys, and action, I just can’t stand the sound. I have a massive passion for anything that makes a sound, in particular guitars, pianos and recording equipment. As aforementioned, the two are pretty much the same when it comes to the audio and overall sensation.

A USB type-B cable allows you to connect the CDP-S100 to your phone (for the Chordana app) or your computer (for DAW or performance software). Just like its predecessor, the S110 is a fabulous piano for the budding pianist looking for their first instrument, with a great feeling keyboard and quality voices.Clearly, these grubby marks will come off, but if you are planning on moving around your new white piano a lot, you may want to consider opting for black instead. I can’t say this enough, but for relatively inexpensive musical instruments, the fact that both sounds natural is quite impressive.

The low polyphony count isn’t that bad for beginners since most of the elementary pieces they will play won’t need a whole lot. First, they have an AUX that allows users to connect their devices and play backing tracks while tinkling the keys. Alongside the previously mentioned PX-S series, Casio also introduced the CDP-S series during their 15 th anniversary, another slim form-factor keyboard aimed at keyboardists and beginners wanting a more affordable instrument. The back-firing speakers are quite powerful for the size and sound excellent, with no distortion, even at max volume, delivering a clean, wide soundscape.p>To give you and your family the best start, we’ve teamed up with Rockschool, a leading music exams board for rock and pop music. Beginners will genuinely have a blast playing, and more importantly, learning on these two digital pianos. We’ll cover this in detail in the Connectivity section, but the experience was just fine without it. There are ten different keyboard sounds to choose from, with the default ‘Grand Piano’ being the best to my ears. This isn’t the case with this piano because it already has everything an acoustic does and much more.

This is a very useful feature, which obviously enables the instrument to be played when there is no power supply available – you could even take it outside for a novel performance opportunity or on a school music tour. The keys themselves are plastic but have a simulated ivory and ebony feel, which gives a subtle grip that reduces the risk of slipping during play. While it works well for practice purposes (and the CDP-S100 does not support half dampering), beginners should use the full-sized pedals that emulate the feel of those on real keyboards. Key combinations may seem complicated, but they do make the front panel a lot less cluttered, which is understandable since there aren’t too many features requiring dedicated buttons. The 3 electric pianos are a good selection of classic sounds, covering everything from classic Wurlitzers to FM synths. The two are pretty much the same when it comes to sound and feel, so if you’re looking for a digital piano that simulates an acoustic one, any of these two works quite well. F6 sounds okay as a piano while E6 sounds extremely twangy as if it was an acoustic piano missing felt on the hammer, I’m not at all exaggerating that it is impossible to ignore. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone else experienced the same problem with their CDP-S100.
