About this deal

And as in Johnson's classic, the spare, streamlined design and the visual messages about imagination's power will easily draw young children, who will recognize their own flights of fantasy.” Original questions and guidelines for philosophical discussion by Caitlin Granahan. Edited June 2020 by The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics. You can include some cardboard in the mix to add some texture to your students’ art activity. You can tape or glue a rectangular piece of cardboard (the box) to a piece of paper and then allow your students to draw using their imagination.

Philosophers have also pondered whether we can imagine things that we have not experienced ourselves. If we have not experienced them, then how do we know about them? Related to this idea, philosophers have often deliberated over whether or not we can imagine things that do not exist in reality already, which leads us to think about how new inventions come about. Some philosophers argue that those new things which are invented actually do exist in reality since they are usually made up of components that already exist. If after thinking about the past month you answer this as SOMETIMES or RARELY, that’s okay! We all start somewhere! We encourage you to think through what changes you can make to your teaching practices and routines to support your classroom assistants as they develop their skills to actively facilitate student learning. Maybe you won’t be able to store real food in here but a cardboard fridge can be a great addition to imaginative play. You can even use smaller boxes and containers as pretend food. Near the end of the story, the narrator asks bunny, “Are you still standing around in that box?” and bunny yells, “It’s NOT NOT NOT NOT a box!”

The words in this book simply ask the rabbit again and again why he is playing with/what he is doing in/why he is squirting, etc. a box. Rabbit repeatedly replies a very simple, "it's not a box!" The pictures tell the story of the rabbit's imagination as the box transforms from a race car to a mountain peak to a robot and more. This is a fantastic little picture book that all kids can relate to.

Pinkalicious: Pinkie Promise (I Can Read Level 1)

In the story, the narrator asks, “Why are you sitting in a box?” The bunny then insists that “It’s not a box.” In the story, the narrator states, “Now you’re wearing a box? But again, the bunny insists, “This is not a box.” Dedicated 'to children everywhere sitting cardboard boxes', this wonderful little book perfectly captures the amazing capacity of a child's imagination to create endless possibilities out of a humble box. A super book that's as close to perfection as a picture book can get!” When commenting, keep it simple and fun! Make a simple 3-5 word comment about something that might interest your child. Here are a few examples for “Not a Box”: Vi har dannet not a box fordi vi tror på, at der ofte er behov for at udvikle kulturen og ændre forretningen længe før behovet erkendes i den operationelle praksis.
