About this deal

In 2006, Kellogg's officially released Eggo Cereal. It came in two flavors: Maple Syrup and Cinnamon Toast. The cereal was discontinued in 2012. Kellogg's produces an Eggo brand breakfast cereal that was shaped to have the likeness of waffles. Flavors include maple syrup and cinnamon toast. It was originally produced from 2006 to 2012, but after a popular campaign was reintroduced in 2019. This cereal box just screams "'80s." Eaters of ready-to-eat breakfast cereal also frequently have healthier body weights as well as a lower chance of developing diseases linked to a sedentary lifestyle, such as CVD, type 2 diabetes, as well as hypertension. By all accounts, it seems that Eggo didn't start selling frozen pancakes until 1997 — a year after co-founder Frank Dorsa's death. A commercial at the time boasted that the new frozen pancakes would "turn your microwave into a griddle." So what exactly took Eggo so long to roll out frozen pancakes? Well, unfortunately, making a decent pancake that froze well wasn't all that simple. Kellogg ( K 0.54%) is a food icon, with most people likely to associate the name with cereal. That makes sense, but like most food makers, Kellogg produces a lot more than just one product.

The pitch is that the slow-growing business can better focus its attention on improving results, while the remaining business will be able to shine because its growth won't be overshadowed by the slower growing spinoff. Kellogg's needed a way to sell their frozen waffles and tapped their marketing agency partner Leo Burnett to come up with a catchy tagline, Advertising Week 360explained. Introduced in 1972, the "L'Eggo My Eggo" campaign was a huge success and drove home the idea that the frozen waffles were simply too good to share. According to Trinh Le, Kellogg's director of frozen breakfast marketing, the tagline helped the brand solidify its reputation and "propel Eggo" above its competitors.
