About this deal

Twistfix helical bars are bonded into slots that have been cut at pre-determined levels within the masonry. In the longer lengths they are used mostly in lots of four, two rows each with a pair of bars, to form the upper and lower flanges of a deep masonry beam which will carry quite a large area of masonry above an unsupported area. It does this by redistributing the load placed on the structure to solve any problems which may have been caused due to localised structural movements. Helical bars when used for lintel repairs are available in three and seven metre lengths. These longer lengths allow the bars to extend beyond the window or door by the required 500mm. You can also cut the longer lengths to the exact size required. YOU SHOULD REPEAT THIS PROCESS FOR THE SECOND LEVEL. THE SECOND LEVEL IS CREATED BY CUTTING ANOTHER SLOT FOUR COURSES ABOVE THE FIRST USING EXACTLY THE SAME METHOD. Helical strives for design excellence across its buildings and is delighted and proud that this has been widely recognised within its industry.

How to Use Helical Bars for Lintel Repairs - Twistfix

Push a helical bar into the incision about three-quarters deep. Ensure the grout encapsulates it and compress any grout that has been displaced. The Easi-Fix Helical Drive Tie has been labelled as the more reliable and faster way to tie facades together. The ties can also be installed through cavity wall insulation, providing high strength and flexibility. Although the job may sound expensive, the installations costs are relatively low. Our UKCA and CE Mark bars comply with BS EN 845:1 for strengthening masonry. The reinforcement resists tension loads of at least 8 kN.Helical bars are buried into slots made in the wall surface. The slots are typically orientated horizontally along the face of the wall and the bars are bonded to the masonry using a high performance polymer modified grout. What are the applications for helical bars? The helix shape rod is excellent for bed joint reinforcement. The helix's peaks and troughs boost the bar's grip in mortar. Helical bars are helpful for various masonry repairs. Retaining the strong belief that our portfolio of high quality, sustainable and technologically advanced buildings are best placed to take advantage of the evolving central London commercial property market. Twistfix only supplies helicalbars produced with this advanced engineering. The upgraded bars areproduced in the UK's only manufacturing facility that, under one roof, takes in round wire and sends out finished helical products. Other manufacturers merely part-process pre-shaped wire thathas been cold roll-profiledby a third party. This guide aims to answer these questions and take you through how to repair lintels with helical spiral bars.

Helically twisted masonry reinforcementrods have for 30 years been used in the structural repair sector of the UK building industry; but do you know whether Helifix Helibars or Twistfix bars have been used? The original Helibars were invented and patented by Twistfix Director WilliamOllis, whorecentlyre-engineered his invention. These upgraded Twistfix bars are produced with a greater degree of product consistency to improve upon the performance of the early Helifix product. Whether on the technical helpline, behind the trade counter or with our How To guides, Chris makes sure that our users feel complete confidence in the systems and products we sell, and know how to use them to get the job done. If you’ve got a question about any of our systems or products, Chris will be more than happy to help.Mix the powder and liquid components of WHO-60 grout and load the mixture into an applicator before pumping a bead of the specialist grout from the rear of the slots and fill them half to two thirds full. Once correctly installed, helically twisted bars provide strong reinforcement to fortify lintels and give a property a new lease of life. Installation is complete in seven easy steps, which are listed below. Clear all loose debris from the newly chased apertures and use clean water to ensure they are thoroughly flushed out and wet-down before installation of the grout. Wetting the masonry reduces suction of the liquid from the grout. Push the second bar into the grout, reaching around 50% of slot depth; this should always be at least 10mm from the first bar. Once again, trowel any excess grout to ensure full encapsulation of the rod. Helical bars are extremely versatile - they can be cut to any length and bent to form the required shape. We recommend fitting them with Easi-Fix 2C cementitious grout or the PermaCEM Anchor Grout. Helical bars are a proven way of increasing the tensile and flexural structure of masonry walls.
